Control bar

The control bar at the top of the safety parameter editor provides the possibility to expand or collapse all groups together. See "Viewing or changing the current parameter values" for details.

Columns for the parameters

The following columns are visible in the safety parameter editor:

  • Column Name displays the name of the parameter.

  • Column Value displays the value of the parameter. You can change this value unless the parameter is read-only. See "Viewing or changing the current parameter values" for details.
A change in the field Value is highlighted with a yellow background color until the change is confirmed. If an attempt is made to confirm an incorrect change, the field Value is highlighted with a red background color. In addition, a message in the line below the incorrect parameter informs about the incorrect value. When you hover over the field for Value, a tooltip informs you about the following parameter data: Default Value, Min (minimum value), Max (maximum value), Step, Type (→data type); If a change for a value has not been confirmed yet, the last confirmed value is also displayed as Value in the quick info.

  • Column Unit displays the unit of the parameter.

  • Column Commissionable contains a checkbox to decide whether the parameter value can be changed at application runtime. However, the checkbox is only available, if the system integrator has provided this possibility for the parameter.

It is possible to resize a column as follows:

  • Point to the edge of the column that you want to resize. When the splitter icon appears, press and hold the primary mouse button, drag the column edge to the requested size and release the primary mouse button. Resizing is not possible, if the column would become too small or too large.

Groups and parameters

The groups and parameters are displayed as lines in the safety parameter editor. The safety parameter editor does not provide the possibility to create new groups/parameters or to change their order.

If changes for the parameter data are causing errors or warnings, the indicator  on the right side of the group name will draw your attention to these errors or warnings.
